‘Planning to succeed helps to create success’ – sounds like a management mantra but it is, in fact, a Scottish Enterprise initiative aimed to work with rural tourism business leaders to increase innovation, collaboration, investment and leadership in order to achieve higher value add from Scotland’s rural tourism assets.
How does this work with SUP Ride Scotland’s Horse Country? Scottish Enterprise is one of the projects main stakeholders. The Planning to succeed (P2S) group are a collective of accommodation providers in the Scottish Borders (and beyond) that are working together to promote best practice and each other. We have been kindly invited along to feed into the group and help promote them on our new website (watch this space)
Over the coming months I will be getting out and about meeting them and seeing their accommodation to understand occupancy rate, facilities and location logistics as well as proximity to the trails.
My first introduction to the group was over a very delicious lunch at Harden Main Bed & Breakfast near Jedburgh. where I met the majority of the group as well as the group facilitator Thomas McGonigle from Dal Riata.
After lunch and the business of the day, we all headed down to the beautiful Bedrule Old Manse B&B to have a guided tour there.
All these beautiful locations and food almost made up for my burst tyre on route!
